MyNESCBWI

Social Network for Children's Book Creators, Hosted by New England SCBWI

MyNESCBWI has hit the milestone of having 100 members, which is amazing because we haven't even "officially" launched yet. Now that everyone has had a chance to look around, I'm soliciting your feedback to make the site even better. For example...

Profile Questions:

There are questions that appear on each member's My Page. We already have basic ones like location, website, blog, SCBWI membership, and published works, but is there anything obvious we've overlooked?

Advertising:

Are you bothered by the automated advertising links that appear in the right column? Have you been offended by the content of any ads you've seen? Is the disclaimer clear enough to explain that New England SCBWI has no control over the ads and does not endorse them? And most importantly, do you know of any reputable advertisers who might want to sponsor our site so that we might be able to get rid of the automated ads?

Why Are You Here?

How do you plan to use MyNESCBWI? Possible answers include, but are not limited to...

# join or start an online critique group
# schmooze with other children's book creators
# share industry news and information
# learn craft and technique
# pick up professional development skills
# learn about upcoming events and conferences
# meet fellow participants before a conference
# communicate with friends
# self-promotion
# procrastination
# other

Anything Else?

What else would you like to see added, removed, or changed? For example, would you like to have the ability to take short videos at a book event with your cell phone and message them directly to the MyNESCBWI site?

Thanks for your help!

Greg,

Thanks so much for creating this network. The illustrator and pb critique groups have been very helpful for me. Everyone is so supportive and has great suggestions for improving my (and others') work.

Also wanted to know: I'm looking around for a FAQ/technical help section... is there one that I am just staring at and can't see?

Thank you again for all your time and work!
Jenn.

There's a general help section for Ning at help.ning.com that applies to our network as well as some tutorials I did that are linked from the left column of the main page. Let me know if you have any other questions!
