Kristina,
Your colors are so rich and jewellike and the details are beautiful. I like the idea of adding the parent/child scene, too. Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing for the portfolio!

Hi Sunil,

Hi guys,
I picked out some sketches to work on to submit - if you have a moment it would be awesome if you could look 'em over and give me your thoughts on where they might be weak.
I put them on my blog here: http://jenn-art.blogspot.com/2009/09/…
Hi Jim,
I think your palette choices work really well and the concept is fun! Just a minor thing - the way you have the shadows, the left side of the barn looks like it needs a shadow. I really like how the farmer is carting an egg away in a wheelba…
I'm at a point where I'm usually trying to sketch while the 2 kiddos are not getting into anything dangerous like eating markers! ;) That is the current plan, anyway. I used to try to do it after they went to bed at night but found I was losing prec…
Hi Mohita,
You have a very bold and unique style! I can tell that you are striving for clear and graphic representation in your images. The eyes on the babies are very intense - I look at them right away. Those plus the dark backgrounds make for so…
Thanks so much! I have a previous background in teaching elementary art... back in the 1900s... :) so I will be learning from you all more than I will be sharing for a while. I've been doing more writing than artwork during the past few years and it will take me a little time to get some color back onto the page. I have several children's books I wrote that I want to illustrate myself. And I don't know quite where to start. Hope no one minds if I just hang in there and listen for a while.
In the meantime, I do take a lot of photographs, mostly for my own research for illustration ideas and photo journaling. I will certainly be active with this until I get brave enough to jump back into the illustrating phase. Thanks!! Nance
