Welcome!

I am a scientist-turned-writer specializing in books about science and nature for young people. My first book, TRACKING TRASH, was published as part of Houghton Mifflin's Scientists in the Field series in 2007. I am hard at work on several other books, including another Scientists in the Field title (THE HIVE DETECTIVES, Houghton Mifflin, 2010) and a book that explores the wonders of citizen science (CITIZEN SCIENTISTS, Henry Holt, 2011).

When I'm not researching or writing books, I am usually reading them. Or exploring out-of-doors. Or playing with my camera. Or whacking a tiny felt ball around a tennis court.

Feel free to look around, and be sure to leave me a comment below. I love getting to know other local writers.

Thanks, Loree. Good to see you here, too. I had so much fun in Nashua with New England writers. Also had fun visiting my extremely cool relatives. Two are sustainable energy experts who live in an off-the-grid home in NH.

Hi Loree, are you going to any of the other salons?

BTW--is your colony collapse book completed, or are you still working on gathering all the photos?
