YA ... Why not?

I’ll confess: I wrote my first Young Adult novel by accident.

I wasn’t new to writing. For close to a quarter of a century I’d been a writing “apprentice” in the truest sense of the word. I had boxes of scribbles, drafts and old journals stacked in the basement. Plenty of essays, articles and stories … some published, some not A little bona fide writing income of various sorts. But no book. No complete work of fiction, with a beginning, middle and end.
